Mckay "Horse" Horsley (Centerfield/Catcher)

Horse has been our high energy guy this year. He is a great baseball player who has proved that he is a multi-tooled player that can play an outstanding centerfield and be a very dependable and exciting lead off hitter. Mckay is exciting to watch and coach because he exhibits great enthusiasm to go with his tremendous athletic ability. What I lke most about Mckay however is not his ability to play baseball, but his genuine love for life. He is a great kid and I have truly grown to admire him. I have had him in the classroom and now on the baseball diamond and he is the same awesome, fun and energetic kid all the time. His zest for life and for doing his best rubs off on everyone who knows him including his coach.

Sage Nyman (Catcher/Infield)

Sage Nyman has been a stud all season long. He is a gifted athlete with all the physical skills to become one of Logan High's best baseball players in the coming years. Perhaps more importantly however, it is his character skills that make him outstanding. He is humble, coachable and willing to do whatever it takes to be his very best. He doesn't do it for recognition or self agrandizement, but simply because he will not accept anything less than his very best. He has been our captain by title and our leader by example. I have been privelaged to have been able to be a part of his progression as a baseball player and as an individual.

Devon Cannon (Pitcher/Shortstop/First Base)

Devon has been awesome this season. He has tremendous athletic ability and over the course of the season, I think Dev has learned that he loves to play baseball. He has been our Ace and whenever he pitches, we have a chance to win. He has learned how to throw all his pitches (fastball, curve, and change-up) for strikes on a consistant basis which has made him into an extremely effective hurler. I can't wait to see how good Dev becomes in the next few years. He has been fun to coach and I have grown to have a great deal of respect and appreciation for him as a player and person. Logan High Baseball is lucky to have him as a part of its future for with him in the program, the future of Logan Baseball looks extremely bright!

Justin Manning (pitcher/shortstop)

Justin has been a stud this season and shows tremendous upside for the future. He will undoubtedly be one of Logan High's best baseball players in the years to come. He hits the crap out of the ball and never gets cheated on a swing. Justin gives 110% at everything he does. He has developed into a solid pitcher, shortstop, hitter, teammate and person. He has been one of the funnest and most rewarding players to coach because despite his obvious talents and physical abilities, he is coachable and willing to go the extra mile to better his game. I have enjoyed the privelage to coach and be a part of this young man's life.

Andrew "Bean" Chanson (3rd Base)

Bean has had an interesting season. He emerged at the start of the seasoon as our starting catcher and captain but soon lost both positions in what can best be described as a learning experience for him. Bean scuffled through the first few games, but once he found his home, which came to be third base, he settled down nicely and broke out as one of our most threatening hitters. Bean has grown and progressed in leaps and bounds this season. He has all the tools and physical abilities to become one of Logan High's best baseball players in the years to come. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching him for he has taught me a lot about what it means to be a coach and a leader.

Jake Mortenson (Infield/Outfield)

Morty is an outstanding young man who has proven to be one of this teams most constant and dependable athletes. He has improved significantly at being a solid defensive second basemen while being solid with a bat in his hands. He is one of the most coachable players on the team and has an insatiable desire to do his very best all the time. Jake will be a key component to Logan High Baseball's success in the years to come. I have absolutely enjoyed coaching Jake. He is a great player and an even better person.

Austin Dykstra (First Base)

Austin has been one of the most improved players on our team this year in almost every aspect of the game. He began the season not even being able to throw a baseball within 20 feet of the person he was throwing to (Austinitis as it came to be dubbed) to being able to throw acurately and hard by the end of the season. He is a quick learner and is constantly asking questions and trying to learn more about the game, a skill that most of us, myself included, would do good to aquire. He got very little playing time at the beginning of the season, but as each practice and game went by, he got better and better, and soon enough he had earned him a starting spot at first base which ultimately made our whole team better at each position. Austin has been a joy to coach.

Dylan Miayasaki (Outfield)

Dylan has been a solid contributer to our team this year not only in the outfield where he has become a confident defensive player, but also at the plate where he has shown determination to improve at becoming a contact hitter. Dylan shows tremendous upside, and as soon as he believes in himself as his coaches and teamates do, he will explode to become an absolute stud of a baseball player. Dylan is the player on the team that keeps us balanced, not too loose or uptight. Dylan has been fun to coach because he shows genuine interest, respect and love for the game.

Brad Bennett (Infield/Outfield)

Brad has been terrific this year. He is one of the most natural and true baseball players on the team. He is smooth at every aspect of the game and it is fun to watch him get better at his craft. Brad has incredible potential and as the years go by and as he gets stronger he will undoubtedly be a vital part of Logan High Baseball. I look forward to seeing what he has in store for the future as he grows in both dedication and love for the game of baseball. He has been a delight to coach and shows sincere desire and resolve to improve day after day.

Taylor Wilson (Outfield)

Taylor has been a vital part of our team this year despite the fact that he saw limited playing time. He has been vital because he has kept our team laughing, sometimes with him sometimes at him. I have been amazed at Taylors constant cheery attitude and persona. He is a young man that makes others around him happy or at least interested in what is going on around them. Every team needs a Taylor Wilson!

Vincent Casio (Manager/Outfielder)

Vinny has been awesome this year. He has dutifully filled his role as manager of the team while also taking seriously his own goals at getting better at the game. He has worked extremely hard all season at learning the skills that it takes to become an everyday baseball player and it has paid off for him. Because of his dilligence and constant improvement and dedication in practice, Vinny finally won a starting spot in our lineup for the last game of the season, during which he singled in two runs in his first at bat of the season. What a wonderfull young man and Logan High is lucky to have him as part of the baseball program.

Mckay Lefler (Manager)

Mckay has been our manager this season, and although I'm sure that it has been frustrating for him to not be playing, he has made the most out of the situation by taking the opportunity to learn how to play and perform the fundamental skills and tasks that it takes to be a baseball player. Despite the fact that this was Mckay's first year at playing baseball, he has shown remarkarble improvement in his knowledge of and his ability to play the game. We have greatly appreciated Mckay's willingness to be a part of Logan High's Baseball program.
